Who are we?

Okeechobee Community Theatre, Inc, was founded in 1979 by Ron and Jacque Hayes. We are a volunteer-based organization of local adults and young people who present live, Broadway-style musicals, comedies and dramas for audiences in South Central Florida: all at a reasonable price. We specialize in entertainment that is suitable for the entire family. All performances are presented in the historic Okeechobee Auditorium at 610 SW Second Avenue in downtown Okeechobee, which is one block west of Golden Corral. This 220-seat facility keeps you close to the action on stage, providing a cozy atmosphere.

In January 2026, the Leadership Board established The Hayes Legacy Foundation to honor the Hayes Family for everything they have created.
